The Good Fight?

Since we launched The Good Fight Collective a few months ago a regular question is... why did you name it that? I know it speaks for itself, but I wanted to unpack that for a moment.

George and I literally had a massive list of potential ministry names. What we knew is that we didn't want it to be about us, because it's not. We've been asked to steward something we believe to be from Him.

The name? Well, it's simple. You might hear someone saying "I'm just trying to fight the good fight." Do the right thing. Make the wise choice. Follow where He leads. Navigate this thing with wisdom and grace.

We know from personal experience doing that... is not easy. In fact it's pretty dang tough. This broken world is seemingly not always geared for the person fighting the good fight. But this world... is not home. Heaven is. Our King reigns not only in Heaven, but in our hearts and on Earth.

So many people simply give up along the way. The fight beats you down and you get tired, weary and for many of us start finding ways to cope. It often leads to addiction, loneliness and broken lives and relationships. And it often puts space between us and God. Space we create.

One of the best ways to fight the good fight is to not do it alone. You need others. Your people. Your community. A collective of brothers who will be in the trenches with you.

George and I are a living example of that. In my 30 years one of God's greatest gifts to me is the constant support, friendship and challenge of having George in my corner. He has been a big part of "my" collective. I write this knowing what a gift that's been and I wish everyone had a George in their life.

So much so we're leading this ministry to help churches, groups, and leaders build a north star of having healthy, authentic communities of men. It's not a 3 step plan. It's messy. It's people. But it's worth it.

Imagine men who don't have someone else to talk to about the the collision of everyday life and faith. We want to help with that.

That's a bit behind our name. I deeply feel like it captures our hearts and mission clearly. Excited to see what's ahead as we follow where He leads... collectively.
